PFLAG Houston is the Houston, Texas Chapter of a worldwide non-profit, volunteer and community-based organization of parents, family and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual  and transgender minorities. Founded in 1981 by 25 parents, PFLAG now represents more than 80,000 members and speaks for thousands of others. PFLAG affiliates are located in over 485 communities in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and eleven other countries. PFLAG is not affiliated with any ethnic, religious, economic or political group. Our purpose is to provide confidential help to families and friends to understand sexual orientation and gender identity while helping to raise awareness and acceptance.
